This Privacy Policy explains how aiFerry ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use aiferry.ai, our browser extension, and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We process the following categories of information:
- Authentication Data: We read your login session cookies from our web platform (
aiferry.ai) to verify your account status and update your usage quotas. - User Inputs: When you use our features (e.g. Chat sidebar, AI Translator, AI Writer), we process the prompts, text, or replies you input to send them to our language model endpoints.
- Page Content: When you invoke features such as page summarization or full-page translation, the text content of the active webpage is processed to perform the requested operation.
- Local Settings: Your local preferences (like UI language, translation target language, custom bot prompts, and glossary entries) are stored strictly locally on your browser using extension storage.
- Browser and Device Measurements: When aiferry.ai loads, our first-party measurement script collects its complete 305-signal browser dataset. This includes browser and operating-system capabilities, screen and window properties, locale and time-zone information, graphics and WebGL characteristics, canvas and audio results, font availability, media and codec support, CSS and JavaScript surface characteristics, storage capabilities, performance measurements, and network-interface capability results. Unsupported or unavailable measurements are recorded as
nullrather than omitted. - Capture Protocol and Request Metadata: Five protocol fields identify the registry and encrypted session used for the measurement. The receiving server separately records receipt time, source IP address, HTTP User-Agent, a pseudonymous session identifier, registry version, and whether decoding and storage succeeded.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use processed data for the following purposes:
- To verify your authentication credentials and account quota.
- To execute AI tasks such as text completion, translation, web search, and summarization.
- To collect and manually analyze browser measurements for service security and future validation work. These measurements are not currently used to automatically approve, reject, or restrict an account or request.
- We do not sell, rent, or distribute your data to any third-party advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use your chats, documents, or inputs to train machine learning models.
- The browser measurement archive does not add your account id, email address, API key, prompts, page content, or payment information to the collected measurement values.
3. Third-Party Services
To perform AI text generation, translation, and summaries, prompts are sent over HTTPS to our backend APIs and then to the model provider selected for the request. Browser measurement archives are handled by a separate aiFerry-operated ingest service and are not sent to model providers.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Local configuration and local chat history can be removed from your browser or extension settings. Browser measurements are stored in a separate access-restricted, append-only archive for manual analysis and are not linked to an aiFerry account identifier.
